We are just under 4 months until my book, A Mother’s Guide to Raising Herself, launches out into the world and with that, I wanted to take a few minutes and unpack what it means to raise yourself.

Takeaways:

  • The biggest impact of growth for me came through having kids. Their existence forced me—challenged me—to look what what I thought about life, faith, humanity, relationships and myself. I started to look at what I believed to be true for them and sometimes it really was opposite of what I had believed up to that point in life.

  • Be curious and pay attention to the things that challenge you. They can help you grow, change and evolve.

  • Think about who or what is helping you to raise yourself. Who are those people or what are those circumstances?

  • Think about what you are telling others but struggle to believe for yourself.

  • What is one thing you can do to start believing it is true for you?

Discussion Questions:

  • What are some pivotal circumstances and people that have impacted your life?

  • What did it push to make you think about yourself, your faith or relationships?

  • How did you grow, change or evolve?

  • What is helping you grow right now?

  • What can you do this week based on this discussion?
